Quash

Quash

curb; stop; cancel

To end something completely.

He will quash the rumors by telling them the truth.

The judge quashed the fine and I did not have to pay.

Comes from the Anglo-French word "quasser"- which means to shake violently- we shake it until it ends.

Remember: Quash reminds us of squash or to crush.
We end something by squashing it.

Used at work:
I will quash the missed deadlines by hiring more people.
