Soporific

something that causes a person to get sleepy.

The lecture was soporific. I was glad to catch up on my sleep.

Memory trick:

we can fall asleep on a sofa or couch.

At work:
Our advertisements were soporific until we added talking monkeys. Now they are entertaining.
