Coarse; unpolished; barbaric;

Possessing ungraceful and crude characteristics.

The inelegance of the hat made her stop wearing it because it was crude.


The inelegance of her hat was astounding.  Even more astounding was that we later learned it was a paper bag.

It is un-elegant.
